Kate Barlow


The Serious Bit

Kate works on a Monday in a job share with Fiona Wells. She looks after freelance roles in the FMCG, electronics, entertainment, publishing, beauty and luxury goods sectors as part of the FMCG and Consumer Brands team. She has 15 years experience of working in marketing for brands such as Filofax, BT and The Millennium Dome across all areas including marcoms, branding and events. 

After retraining ten years ago, Kate also works part-time as an interior designer, so we've got the feng shui of the office covered! 

The Fun Bit

My first ever job was…

...as an assistant at a neighbours cattery. I’d help dish out food for up to 30 cats a day (and clean their litter trays) all for the princely sum of 50p a day.

The most daring thing I’ve ever done is…

...pack my whole life into storage and follow my partner to New Zealand with six weeks notice. We were supposed to be there for nine months (for his work) but we stayed for three years (followed by one in Vancouver).

In my spare time you can find me…

...rediscovering the art. Architecture and history of the UK – after a few years living in a ‘new’ young country, you tend to miss the heritage that you once took for granted.

The brand I am most passionate about is…

...the V&A Museum because despite the “old fashioned” nature of the museums content, the marketing and events teams consistently do a fantastic job re-introducing the decorative arts of bygone ages to a new audience.
